Individuals referred by their GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician for mental health treatment can receive a rebate of $96.65 per session. To qualify for this rebate, you must obtain a referral letter along with a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, or a referral letter from your psychiatrist or paediatrician. With a Mental Health Care Plan, you can access up to 10 sessions per calendar year with Medicare rebates.

Individuals seeking private psychological services can potentially receive rebates from private health funds. However, they must choose between claiming either the Medicare rebate with a Mental Health Care Plan or a rebate from their private health fund, but not both.

Psychological services offered through Workers' Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident Claims are fully funded by the insurance provider. It's recommended to directly engage with the relevant insurance provider to enquire into the payment process for psychology service fees associated with these claims.

Cancellation Fees: Clients are expected to inform South West Psychology of any appointment cancellations at least 24 hours in advance. For cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, a fee equivalent to 100% of the session cost will be incurred. Medicare rebates do not cover cancellation fees.
